Suspect Arrested in Murder Investigation Following Death of Ann Widdecombe

The 78-year-old was discovered at her residence in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday morning, having sustained what investigators described as "serious injuries."
Police Action and Investigation Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed on Friday that a white British male was taken into custody in Newton Abbot on suspicion of murder.
The Force Major Crime Investigation Team is currently leading the inquiry. Assistant Chief Constable Matt Longman stated that while the investigation is in its early stages, it is progressing rapidly.
